WOODLAWN, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – An active duty Fort Campbell soldier will be awarded the 2016 Tennessee Small Farmer of the Year Award for ‘Most Improved Beginning Small Farmer’.

Charley Jordan is an active duty soldier at Fort Campbell, who has served over 27 years in the Army and also owns and operates the Circle J Ranch in Woodlawn, Tennessee.

He recently organized a successful Farmer Veteran Workshop for veterans and active duty military interested in agriculture as a post military career.

Jordan was proud that his efforts have been recognized. “I owe a lot of this award to my supporters during the planning and execution of my Farmer Veteran Workshop last April,” he said.

Jordan will be presented with his award July 21 during the TSU Small Farm Expo in Nashville.
