What would the presidential race look like if it was based off Facebook likes?

According to a map with data from FiveThirtyEight.com, Candidate Ben Carson (Republican) would lead against all other candidates regardless of party by 26 percent. Trump and Sanders are tied for second with 23 percent of the nation liking their candidate page. Based off Facebook likes Sanders would beat Hilary 3 to 1 and Trump would have more support than Cruz and Rubio combined.

Tennessee and Montgomery County reflects the majority of the nation’s social media activity when it comes to liking a candidate’s page. Tennessee shows Carson with 35 percent and Trump in second with 27 percent. Montgomery County has Carson at 33 percent likes and Trump still in second with 27 percent.

These numbers are not actual votes. They are only based on Facebook page likes. Approximately 50 percent of adults use Facebook and only a fraction of that percentage choose to like a candidate’s page. Facebook like also do not necessarily mean an individual supports a specific candidate.
