CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – A former winner of the Q108’s Clarksville’s Got Talent competition has moved on to a bigger stage by trying out for American Idol.
The 15th and final season of American Idol premiered this week, and 15-year-old Tristan McIntosh was a featured contestant.
McIntosh won Q108’s Clarksville’s Got Talent competition in April 2013 at the age of 13.
“I had a chance to see the amazing talent of Tristan McIntosh when she was a contestant for our Clarksville’s Got Talent contest a couple of years ago,” Q108’s Ryan Ploeckelman of Ryan and Gretchen in the Morning said. “Such amazing talent and such a wonderful young woman. Clarksville, I think we found someone to root for this season on American Idol!”
McIntosh’s audition aired Thursday night. She sang Mickey Guyton’s “Why Baby Why” and received high praise from the judges.
Her mother, who is an Army major, was supposed to deploy before the audition but surprised McIntosh by showing up just in time and celebrating with her when she received her golden ticket to the next round of auditions in Hollywood.
Watch the full audition and keep track of her progress by watching American Idol Wednesday and Thursday nights at 7 p.m. on FOX.
