NASHVILLE, Tenn. – TN Senator Mark Green and leaders of military mental health services organizations will kick off the sale of specialty automobile plates today.

These plates will fund counseling and intervention services for service members, veterans, and family members.

The legislation, SB 0049, was sponsored by Sen. Mark Green, a US Army Veteran, to create these tags, which are $35 each.

Once 1,000 of these specialty plates are purchased, the program begins. All revenue is divided among established military charities located in Tennessee – Courage Beyond, a program of Centerstone Military Services, and SAFE, Soldiers and Families Embraced.

A selection of four vanity plates will contain the emblems of the Combat Infantry, Combat Medical and Combat Action Badges, as well as a plate with the logos of the two administrating charities.

A ceremony will be held Wednesday in Nashville to begin the sale.
