CADIZ, Ky. – (CLARKSVILLENOW) Two students have been charged in two separate investigations into school threats in Trigg County.

Cadiz Police have confirmed charges against a juvenile for making a threat toward the school. WKRN reports that school officials were looking into misbehavior on a bus last Thursday when they uncovered audio and video of a threat.

Cadiz Police were notified of the threat on Monday. The department is encouraging parents to talk to their children about the importance of reporting threats by fellow students.

The Trigg County Sheriff’s office confirmed receiving a call from a teen arrested for threatening to bring a gun to school. That student said that another student “threatened to bring a gun to school and shoot people.”

Upon further investigation, the student admitted he made up the story and is now back in custody on charges of making a false report.

The incidents occurred just days after two students were killed in a school shooting at Marshall County High School in Benton, Kentucky.
