CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – A tornado caused damage to several homes in the Clarksville-Montgomery County area Saturday night. The National Weather Service confirmed that the tornado was an EF-2 in the Rossview Rd./Farmington Subdivision area.

Sandra Brandon, spokesperson for the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO), said four homes and two duplexes were completely destroyed in the Farmington Subdivision near Holland Drive and Green Grove Way. Dozens of other homes were also damaged, as well as approximately 75 cars at Hankook.

At least two people have been transported to local hospitals with unspecified injuries.

Reports from the scene say at least one home was completely leveled.

Crews from MCSO, Montgomery County Emergency Management Agency (EMA), and EMS are on scene to assess the damage and check on the status of residents in the surrounding areas.

Lifepoint Church (1915 Rossview Rd.) has been opened up as a shelter for anyone who has been displaced by the storm. The Red Cross will also be on the scene to assist the victims.

Deepwood Subdivision off Dotsonville Rd. in Montgomery County also sustained damage. Emergency crews are in the area.

The National Weather Service confirmed that a tornado was in fact spotted earlier in Clarksville. The Tornado Warning expired at 9:30 p.m.

APSU tweeted Saturday night saying the roof of the Dunn Center had been damaged, causing leaks that delayed the basketball game. The game was paused but later resumed.
