CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – Governor’s Square Mall has announced that it will be closed on Thursday, November 24.

This will allow employees and those of mall retailers to enjoy the holiday with their families.

“We arrived at this decision after consulting with our retail partners, considering their wishes and those of our many loyal guests from the community,” mall officials said in a press release.

The Carmike Governor’s Square 10 Cinema will open on the afternoon of November 24 for traditional holiday movie-goers. Other anchor stores at the shopping complex may opt to open on Thanksgiving. Check the individual store websites or call ahead to verify their holiday hours.

Governor’s Square Mall will reopen on Friday, November 25 at 6 a.m., kicking off the holiday shopping season. The first 1,000 people through the main entrance door will receive gift bags.

Hundreds of balloons will fall in the Dick’s Sporting Goods Court at 8 a.m., each containing a voucher for a mall gift card worth between $10 and $500.

As Christmas approaches, mall hours will gradually increase to accommodate everyone’s shopping needs. Please consult the mall website for exact holiday hours.

Several other retailers nationwide have announced closures for Thanksgiving as well.
