CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – A 60-year-old man was killed in a shooting Wednesday evening in Clarksville.
According to police, the incident occurred shortly before 5:30 p.m. at 2151 Watertown Place.
An arrest warrant says police found the suspect, 27-year-old Joshua Chambers, kneeling in the driveway of the home. He made statements to officers that indicated his involvement in the shooting and lead them to the wounded victim at the back of the home.
Officers discovered the body of 60-year-old Richard Gibeau in the backyard. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
A loaded 9mm pistol was also found in the driveway. Chambers told police he had been in an altercation with Gibeau inside the home and later shot him in the driveway.
Chambers surrendered to officers without incident. He has been charged with Criminal Homicide and booked into the Montgomery County Jail.

This is the third shooting in as many days in Clarksville.
This follows a shooting Monday night on Donna Drive and a home-invasion shooting on Blakemore Drive. Suspects in that case are still at large.
