CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – The City of Clarksville announced on Thursday, Oct. 2, their plan to hold a Woodstock neighborhood meeting to announce details of an action plan for flood mitigation in the area.

In a press release, the city said this relates particularly to the aftermath of this past year’s flood events, which includes in April when the Woodstock neighborhood had to be evacuated. The action plan will be explained at the meeting, and the city said this is determined to be the most corrective and comprehensive action solution.

“We’ve reached a point after extensive, lengthy and uninterrupted study by engineering experts, to reveal and provide basic detail about what has been determined to be the best course of action for bringing significantly enhanced flood protection for the Woodstock residents,” said Clarksville Mayor Joe Pitts. “We are eager to share the information and begin this process.”

The public meeting will be Thursday, Oct. 9, at 5:30 p.m. at Northeast Middle School.
