CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – A local woman was recently charged with extortion after allegedly threatening to expose her affair with a man if he did not pay her thousands of dollars.

Elise Larocque, 29, met the man on Backpage.com and they were having sexual relations outside of their marriages, according to a warrant.

On November 7, she told him to pay her $5,000 in cash, or she would go to his place of work and tell everyone in his office about the affair, according to the man’s statement. He dropped off the money at Larocque’s house, and she sent him a text message shortly after to say that she had received it.

Larocque later told the man to pay her $15,000 in cash by November 18 at 6 p.m., or she would tell his wife about the affair. According to the warrant, she was arrested while meeting for the money exchange.

When she was searched, nine hydrocodone pills were found in her possession.

After being taken into custody, Larocque admitted to receiving the $5,000 cash on November 7.

She was booked into the Montgomery County Jail with a $10,250 Bond.
