CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – We could get our first solid snow in years Sunday night, with 4 to 6 inches of accumulation predicted.

A Winter Storm Watch has been issued for Montgomery, Stewart, Robertson, Houston, Dickson and Cheatham counties, from Sunday evening to late Monday night.

Heavy mixed precipitation is possible, according to the National Weather Service.

“Total snow accumulations of 3 to 5 inches for northwest Middle Tennessee and ice accumulations of around one tenth of an inch are possible,” the alert said.

“Travel could be very difficult. The hazardous conditions could impact the morning or evening commute.”

Details on the exact snow and ice amounts are still up in the air and will be announced as the storm gets closer.

Several counties in Kentucky are also under a Winter Storm Watch.
