CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Several Kentucky counties are under a Winter Storm Watch from Sunday evening through Tuesday afternoon.

The National Weather Service office in Paducah, Kentucky, issued the watch for Trigg, Todd, Lyon, Logan, Christian and Caldwell counties.

“A winter storm will bring two waves of wintry precipitation to the region Sunday night through Tuesday,” the NWS alert said. “There could be significant accumulations of snow, sleet and possibly freezing rain. The heaviest precipitation is expected to occur Monday afternoon into Monday night.”

Snow accumulation of 4 or more inches is possible.

The morning and evening commute could be impacted on Monday, the alert said.

Very cold wind chill temperatures are also forecast. Northeast winds 10-20 mph could cause snow to drift.
