CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – At 9:48 p.m. the night of January 30, Clarksville Police responded to a call from a male victim at 3065 Wilma Rudolph Blvd who had been robbed after meeting with woman he met on a social network called Tagged.

According to the police report, the victim told officers that the female was named Danielle Vineyard.

Vineyard asked the victim to meet up with her at the EconoLodge in room number 208, and greeted him at the door when he arrived. When the victim stepped inside, he noticed a black male, later identified as Willie Hardy Jr., standing behind the door. Hardy closed the door, pointed a handgun at the victim, and struck him in the mouth with it. Vineyard then grabbed the victim’s legs, causing him to fall to the ground. Hardy told the victim to give him his money, phone, and keys. After the victim complied, Hardy them ordered him to remove all of his clothing and to walk into the bathroom. The victim did as he was instructed and closed the door and locked it until Mr. Hardy and Ms. Vineyard left. He then came out of the bathroom and called police.

The suspects’ description was given to all three districts and Sgt. Matiz from District 2 realized that he had seen the suspects somewhere around Riverside Drive. Sgt Matiz and Sgt Galbraith located the suspects at Kelly’s Big Burger at 405 N Riverside Drive. The suspects made an attempt to leave the business as Sgt Matiz and Sgt Galbraith approached the entrance. Mr Hardy ran a short distance on foot before he was apprehended by Sgt Matiz and Sgt Galbraith. He then physically resisted the arrest, causing the handgun used in the robbery to fall from his clothing. An officer immediately collected the gun for evidence.

Shortly after being arrested, the suspects were taken into custody and transported to District 3 CI, and then to Montgomery County Jail.

Hardy was also charged with theft of property and felon in possession of a handgun. The handgun used in the robbery was stolen from Farmington, MO Dec. 21, 2013.
