CLARKSVILLE, TN – Clarksville Parks and Recreation is proud to continue its longstanding Summer Youth Program (SYP), a staple in the Clarksville community that provides safe, engaging and enriching experiences for local youth during the summer months.

Beginning in 2026, the Summer Youth Program will cost $25 per week, per child. While the program was previously free, financial assistance is available to ensure that every child can participate, regardless of cost, and to support the high-quality programming families have come to expect.

Clarksville Parks and Recreation remains committed to keeping summer programming accessible to all families. Through the SYP Financial Assistance Program, families who reside within Clarksville city limits may qualify for their child’s Summer Youth Program to be completely free or offered at a reduced cost, depending on eligibility.

“We want every child in our community to have the opportunity to participate in the Summer Youth Program,” said Jennifer Letourneau, Director of Clarksville Parks and Recreation. “Financial assistance is available to ensure cost is never a barrier, and we encourage families to apply early to secure their child’s spot.”

Families may use a current Free or Reduced Lunch eligibility letter as acceptable documentation when applying for assistance. Children approved for Free or Reduced Lunch will qualify for a 100% discount.

Age verification is required during the registration process for all children participating in the Summer Youth Program. Birth certificates and passports may be uploaded electronically or verified in person at the Clarksville Parks and Recreation main office or any recreation center.

Applications for the SYP Financial Assistance Program are now being accepted. Summer Youth Program registration opens April 2 at 5 p.m.
