William Wayne “Stick” Shepherd, age 66 of Clarksville, died Monday, March 3, 2014 at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville. He was born in Clarksville, TN to the late Johnny Samuel Shepherd and Dorothy Motes Shepherd.
Stick was employed by the Civil Service at Fort Campbell, KY and a US Air Force Veteran. He is a 1965 graduate of Clarksville High School. He was a member of Hilldale Baptist Church. Mr. Shepherd was a 32nd-degree Mason at Lodge #761, having joined in 1969. He was also a member of the NHRA. He played little league baseball and worked at the Music City Dragway, Beech Bend, and Clarksville Speedway.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 8th at the Chapel of Neal-Tarpley-Parchman Funeral Home, with Dr. Ted Denny officiating. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be from 3 p.m. until 7 p.m. Thursday, March 6th, from 3 p.m. until 7 p.m. Friday, and from 9 a.m. until the hour of service Saturday. A Masonic Service will take place at 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Wendell Holden, Billy Joe Black, Sid Harris, Gordon Clinard, Larry Jackson, Stan Perry, and Shawn Campbell.
Stick is survived by his loving wife, Mildred Shepherd; sister, Linda Campbell; nephew, Shawn Campbell; great-nephew, Landon Campbell; and his best pal puppy dog, all of Clarksville.
