William Lyle Evans, Sr., age 84, of Clarksville, passed away Sunday, December 4, 2016, at his daughter’s residence.
William was born July 22, 1932, in Clarksville, TN, to the late Felix Gilmer Evans and Betty Brown Evans.
Mr. Evans was a CPA retired from Byers and Harvey. He was a mason, a former member of Clarksville Civitan, and the former president of the Wildcat Club. William was also a member of Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
Celebration of Life will be held Wednesday, December 7, at 6:00 PM, at the Chapel of Neal-Tarpley-Parchman Funeral Home, with Dr. Steve Louder officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday, December 7, from 3:00 PM until the hour of service, at the funeral home.
William is survived by his wife, Martha Melton Evans; son, Lyle (Joanie) Evans, Jr.; daughter, Emily (Rick) Barrow; two brothers, Elwyn Evans and Phillip (Fran) Evans; sister, Sara (Johnny) Miller; four grandchildren, Jordon Evans Rye, Julianne Evans Tidwell, Evan William Stone, and Jackson Riley Stone; and five great grandchildren, Briley Stone, Blaine Stone, Emma Rye, Henry Rye, and Drake Tidwell.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Cumberland Presbyterian Church, 1410 Golf Club Lane, Clarksville, TN 37040.
