CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – The redistricting of Tennessee that was approved last week carves out the northwest corner of Montgomery County and puts it in the same District 5 as Memphis, stretching from Williamson County at the east, north to the state line, west to the Mississippi River, then south to Shelby County.

Republicans have openly stated that the redistricting is designed to give Republicans all of the state’s seats in Congress. Democrats have done or attempted similar political gerrymandering in California and Virginia.
