CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – With President Donald Trump coming to Clarksville Saturday, a major APSU football game that evening, and events planned at both Downtown Commons and McGregor Park, the Clarksville Police Department is issuing a travel advisory.
“Motorists should expect significant traffic impacts, including road closures, altered traffic patterns and detours,” said CPD spokesman Scott Beaubien. “If you plan to attend any of the events, please allow yourself plenty of extra time to reach your destination. A simple trip could take considerably longer due to increased traffic and detours.”
Parking downtown for Trump rally
Parking downtown will be limited, particularly in the area immediately surrounding F&M Bank Arena. No vehicles will be allowed to park on the streets directly connected to F&M Bank Arena, in either direction, Beaubien said.
Those roadways will be closed, and no vehicle traffic will be allowed past the barriers. Those attending the Trump rally at the arena should be prepared to park farther away and walk a short distance to the venue.
Parking will be available at two city parking garages that are two blocks away: at Second and Commerce, and at First and Commerce. The private Millan Parking Garage next to the arena, at 90 College St., will be closed, Beaubien said.
“Please follow the instructions of officers directing traffic and do not attempt to drive around barricades or other traffic-control barriers,” he said.
