CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKVILLE NOW) – West Creek High Athletics officially named Michael Booker Jr. as the Coyotes next head football coach going into the 2024-25 season. The decision comes after former head coach Rob Gallowitz stepped down in March.

Booker has a rich history in the world of football, including playing college football at the University of Nebraska, where he played in two national championships for the Cornhuskers. In addition, he was also drafted in the first round of the 1997 NFL Draft by the Atlanta Falcons with their 11th overall pick.

Booker played five total seasons in the NFL, which included playing in a Super Bowl with the Falcons back in 1999 when they lost to the Denver Broncos, according to Pro Football Reference. In addition to his time in Atlanta, Booker also played for the Tennessee Titans for two seasons.

As for his coaching experience, West Creek’s next head coach previously coached six years of high school football in Texas. Booker will now take over a Coyotes program coming off of a year where they made the playoffs for the first time in a decade.
