CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Strong thunderstorms were moving across the area and reaching portions of Montgomery County, with storms expected through about 3:45 p.m.

The storms carried winds in excess of 40 mph and half inch hail, the NWS said. Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor damage to outdoor objects is possible.

Montgomery and surrounding counties remain under a Severe Thunderstorm Watch until 9 p.m.

North wind 10 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.
