Update, 11:30 a.m.: Montgomery and surrounding counties are under a Wind Advisory from 9 p.m. tonight until noon Saturday.

Southwest winds of 15 to 25 mph with gusts to 40 mph are expected, according to the National Weather Service.

“Gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result,” the advisory said.

CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Strong to severe storms are likely in Montgomery and surrounding counties tonight, especially after midnight.

“The main threats are damaging winds, isolated tornadoes, large hail, and localized flooding from heavy downpours,” according to the National Weather Service.

Expect warmer temperatures today, with scattered showers and a few storms. The storms will become stronger ahead of the cold front, which will sweep across Middle Tennessee tonight and early Saturday, according to the NWS.

Clarksville is expected to get .5 to 1 inch of rain.

Saturday: Partly sunny with a 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms in the morning, then partly cloudy in the afternoon. Highs in the lower 60s. Temperatures falling into the 40s in the afternoon. West winds 15 to 20 mph.
