Update, 2:15 p.m.: A Severe Thunderstorm Warning has been issued through 3 p.m. for a storm located 7 miles northeast of Erin, moving northeast at 35 mph with possible 60 mph wind gusts and penny size hail.
“Expect damage to roofs, siding, and trees,” the NWS said. “For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building.”

CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – With storms moving across Middle Tennessee today, the National Weather Service has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Watch for Montgomery and surrounding counties until 8 p.m.
A Watch means that conditions are right for a severe storm to develop. If a severe storm is indicated on radar, a Severe Thunderstorm Warning will be issued.
Flood Watch continues
A Flood Watch also remains in effect, through Sunday morning.
“Showers and thunderstorms are expected Saturday. With abundant moisture, flooding will be possible in any slow-moving or training thunderstorms that develop,” the NWS said. “Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.”
Heat Watch in effect
Also, there’s a Heat Watch in effect from Monday morning through Thursday evening. Dangerously hot conditions are expected, with heat index values up to 110 possible.
Heat related illnesses increase significantly during extreme heat and high humidity events,” the NWS said. “Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.”

- Tonight: Showers and possibly a thunderstorm before midnight, then a chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly between midnight and 4 a.m. Low around 73. West wind around 5 mph becoming calm in the evening. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.
- Sunday: A 10% chance of showers and thunderstorms before 7 a.m. Mostly sunny, with a high near 93. Heat index values as high as 107. West southwest wind 5 to 10 mph.
- Sunday night: Mostly clear, with a low around 74. West wind around 5 mph becoming calm in the evening.
- Monday: Sunny, with a high near 96. Calm wind becoming west southwest around 5 mph.
