CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – The Walk with Me Tennessee walking program challenges Clarksville citizens to walk across the state featuring trails in Clarksville.

To participate, create a free account at www.healthywalkers.com to begin completing challenges. The first participant to report completion of each challenge during the designated challenge period will receive a Walk with Me Tennessee prize pack. For each challenge completed, participants’ names will be entered into a drawing for a grand prize at the end of the 12-week session.

To be eligible for prize winning, participants must track their progress through www.healthwalkers.com and must live in the following zip codes: 37040, 37041, 37042, 37043 or 37044.

All participants will receive one free year’s use of the Health Walkers website.

Walk with Me Tennessee will kick off Tuesday, Oct. 1 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Clarksville Greenway’s Pollard Road Trailhead, located at 1101 Pollard Road. The kick-off event will feature a variety of booths from outdoor-related businesses and organizations as well as a group walk with Mayor Kim McMillan. This event will begin the first of two 12-week sessions of the program. The first will run October 1 through December 17 and the second through March 11, 2014 through May 2, 2014.
