CLARKSVILLE, Tenn (CLARKSVILLENOW) – Wags and Wings Family Fun & Oktoberfest returns to Clarksville Regional Airport September 28 and 29.

This family and pet friendly event will raise funds for the Clarksville-Montgomery County Humane Society, featuring a wide array of events and activities. This year’s events include a kids zone with inflatables, a car and motorcycle show, a dog costume contest and an exhibition from the Queen City Runners Flyball group.

Wags & Wings will also feature what event organizers are calling “the most authentic Oktoberfest outside of Munich,” with German food and beer provided by Nashville’s Bavarian Bierhaus. All ages are welcome, but an ID will be required to purchase beer.

Wags & Wings will also feature several aviation attractions including skydiving demonstrations, helicopter and plane rides and a visit from the Spirit of Freedom.

The ‘Spirit,’ a C-54E aircraft, was flown in the Berlin Airlift, in which Allied aircraft delivered vital supplies to citizens of Eastern Berlin. The Spirit now serves as a flying museum commemorating that event, housing artifacts, photographs and a computer animated tour guide.

Clarksville Regional Airport is located at 200A Outlaw Field Road. The event runs from 11 a.m-11 p.m. on Saturday and 11 a.m-8 p.m. on Sunday. Admission is $15 for adults and $7 for children (5-12). Kids 4 years and younger are free.

For more information, or to purchase tickets, visit Wags & Wings at their website or on Facebook.

Stay tuned on Friday for an overhead view of Clarksville as we join the Spirit of Freedom for a special preview flight leading up to Wags & Wings.
