CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – The USO Nashville and USO Fort Campbell will host a “Big Band Bash” fundraiser to support the mission of the USO locally on November 12, 2016.

The event will be held at Lane Motor Museum located at 702 Murfreesboro Pike, Nashville, TN 37210 from 7:00 pm to 11:00 pm.

The event will include activities reminiscent of the World War II era, most notably the energy and excitement of a dance. Guests will also have an opportunity to bid on a variety of silent auction items that will fit any budget. Party goers will design and fill stocking stuffer snack bags for the children at Fort Campbell that attend the USO Holiday Open House and those traveling through USO Nashville over the holidays.

“We are ecstatic to host the Big Band Bash again,” said Kari Moore, Center Director, USO Nashville and USO Fort Campbell. “This event had incredible energy in 2015, and we are looking forward to watching our guests be even more delighted this year. Fundraisers like this help us execute the mission of the USO for our local service members and their families, providing important programs and services that keep them connected to the people, places, and things that they love.”

The USO Nashville provides a comfortable “home away from home” for troops and their families as they travel for business or leisure. The center has comfortable seating, video games, a children’s play area, and a snack bar. The USO Nashville participates in the “Families of the Fallen” program, which supports families traveling to Dover Air Force Base for the dignified transfer of their fallen service members. This center includes support for Nashville MEPS.

The USO Fort Campbell offers a lounge, video gaming, computer services, and family programming to the troops at Fort Campbell. Popular programs include the weekly Warrior Wednesday, which provides free lunch for Active Duty troops, and the monthly Dawna’s Dinners, which is a free family dinner and activity. USO Fort Campbell includes a transition assistance program for service members transitioning back to civilian life.

“The USO is the ‘Force Behind the Forces,’ and this event gives guests a feel for what that means now, and historically as we celebrate our 75 years of supporting our service members,” Moore said.
