CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – (CLARKSVILLENOW) As the season changes and temperatures begin to fall, the United Way of the Greater Clarksville Region is working hard to help many people who are struggling to stay warm, and they are desperately in need help from the community.
Each year throughout the winter months the United Way collects donated heaters as well as monetary donations which are used to buy heaters to give to those who need them. Heaters of all different sizes and types are accepted and greatly appreciated.
“United Way asks our community to help share the warmth of the holiday season by donating space heaters to those struggling in the cold. Heaters of all shapes and sizes are greatly appreciated and will be distributed to many without heat in their homes,” said Ginna Holleman, United Way CEO.
Holleman added that the need is particularly great for the elderly, disabled, chronically ill and families with young children and the United Way is grateful to each one who can help blanket the community in care.
If you would like to help someone stay warm, donated heaters can be dropped off at the United Way office at 529 N. 2nd Street, Suite 1 in Clarksville or for more information about the heater collection drive call the United Way at 931-647-4291.
