CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – One man has died and one remains in critical condition after being shot Wednesday evening in Clarksville. Police responded to a call about a shooting at 9:30 p.m.

Officers arrived within minutes to a chaotic scene. A large group of people were crowding the area, where one man was shot and lying in the parking lot.

A short time later police found another shooting victim in the area of 1030 Main St.

Based on information from eye witnesses, gunfire erupted during a celebration at 1006 College Street. No one could confirm a suspect or vehicle description.

Eric Hardy, 26, was found in the parking lot on College St. He was taken to Tennova Medical Center where he succumbed to his injuries and died Thursday morning.

The other victim, a 44-year-old man whose name has not been released, was taken by Life Flight to a Nashville area hospital. He is still hospitalized and in critical condition.

The crime scene has been processed and the investigation is ongoing.

Multiple agencies including the Clarksville Police Department, Montgomery County Sheriffs Office, and Tennessee Highway Patrol are investigating and securing the scene.
