CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – The 13th annual Tennessee East-West All-Star Classic was held Friday, Dec. 13 at Fortera Stadium.
The game featured approximately 88 high school seniors from across Tennessee divided into East and West teams.
Clarksville High’s Blake Hundley played on the offensive line of the West team while Tomario Vereen represented Northeast High for the East team.
“The all-star game gave me a chance to see what college football will be like,” Hundley said. “It’s a lot quicker and the competition is a lot more talented and technical. I had fun being able to play with some of the best players in the state. It was truly an honor to represent Clarksville in that game.”
In a steady rain throughout, it was the East team who came away with a 20-7 win over the West.
“The Tennessee East-West Classic was definitely an experience I will never forget,” Vereen said. “I also learned a lot of new things and to always remain humble. I was glad to be able to put Clarksville and my school on the map.”
Knoxville West High’s Omarian Wright was named offensive MVP after tallying 69 yards and a touchdown while Lebanon’s Daniel Davila took home defensive MVP by recording a game-high eight tackles and returned a fumble for 70 yards.
Dickson County’s Tre’vonn Rybka also finished with eight tackles for the East team.
The West team still leads the all-time series with a 7-6 record.
