MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Tenn. – One person was killed and another was injured in a crash on I-24 westbound near mile marker 8 in Montgomery County Tuesday evening.
According to a report from Tennessee Highway Patrol, a 2006 Honda Odyssey driven by 46-year-old Vonda Stone was traveling in the left lane and a commercial truck was in the center lane around 6:42 p.m.
The truck began to merge into the left lane and hit the Honda, which struck a guardrail and came to a stop on the left shoulder.
The truck traveled off the left side of the road and went down an embankment into a wooded median, striking several trees before stopping.
The truck driver, who has not yet been identified, was killed in the crash.
Stone was injured but her condition was not released.
No charges have been filed and alcohol/drugs do not appear to have been a factor in the crash.
