Update, 4:55 p.m.: Wilma Rudolph Boulevard is back open.

Traffic is mostly back to normal through the area, though there is now a wreck on Athletic Boulevard.

Update, 4 p.m.: Northbound lanes are back open, but southbound is still closed. Police advise staying away from the area, as traffic remains backed up.

Update, 3:45 p.m.: There are no major injuries, according to Clarksville Police.

Traffic surrounding Governors Square Mall is at a standstill as drivers detour around the closed highway. Drivers are urged to avoid the area this afternoon.

Update, 3:20 p.m.: The wreck involved a dump truck, a flatbed truck, a pickup truck and at least one other car.

The highway is closed in both directions. Southbound traffic is backed up past Tractor Supply Co.

CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Wilma Rudolph Boulevard is closed in front of Walmart because of a wreck involving an overturned dump truck.

At about 2:55 p.m., Clarksville Police closed the highway.

A dump truck overturned and about six vehicles were involved in the crash, according to Clarksville Police Sgt. Charles Gill.

Police said it’s not known how long the road will be closed.

As of 3 p.m., southbound traffic was backed up to Sam’s Club and onto the exit ramp from Interstate 24. Northbound traffic was backed up past Target at Athletic Avenue.
