Update, 7:50 a.m.: Dustin Williams is in custody, according to MCSO’s Sandra Brandon. The second stolen vehicle, a green Camaro, has also been recovered.
Update, 8:15 p.m.: It appears the carjacker stole a Camaro on Terminal Road from a teenager who was leaving work.
At the Wilma Rudolph Boulevard Wendy’s, an 18-year-old was leaving work when he was grabbed by the neck by the carjacker, who then stole his 1996 Camaro, the teen’s father, Bill Jones, told Clarksville Now.
He said police told him they pursued the vehicle until it became too dangerous, and the vehicle was last seen near Exit 11 around 6:30 p.m.
On the Clarksville-Montgomery County Crimewatch page, people reported seeing a chase down Interstate 24.
Update, 8 p.m.: Based on reports, Dustin Williams was last seen in the Sango Road and Highway 41A South area, possibly driving a 1996 green Chevy Camaro TN tag DKW172, according to MCSO’s Sandra Brandon.
Please call 911 if you see the vehicle or Williams. Current charges are aggravated assault and carjacking.
Update, 5:15 p.m.: After the suspect fled on foot in the Terminal Road area, he tried to take another vehicle, then ran again, according to CPD’s Michael Patterson.
The suspect is not believed to be armed or a threat to the public, Patterson said..
The suspect has been identified as Dustin Williams, 34. He was last seen wearing a black shirt, black shorts, and an orange beanie cap. He is also believed to be barefoot.
Anyone with contact with Williams call 911.
Update, 4:40 p.m.: Traffic through the area appears to be returning to normal.
Update, 3:40 p.m.: Police have recovered the Jeep. The suspect appears to still be at large. There is no information available on whether he is armed.
Update, 3:15 p.m.: A CPD officer this afternoon spotted a carjacking suspect from an incident in Montgomery County near Governor’s Square in Clarksville, according to police spokesman Detective Michael Patterson.
After the suspect was spotted, he ran from the vehicle, Patterson said.
In the carjacking, at about 8:15 a.m. today, a red 1994 Jeep Grand Cherokee was stolen on North Hinton Road, southeast of Clarksville.
MCSO is working with CPD to search the area for the suspect.

CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – A heavy police presence near Governor’s Square had Wilma Rudolph Boulevard blocked in both directions Saturday afternoon.
At 3 p.m., traffic was blocked on the highway and several people reported seeing Clarksville Police and Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office vehicles all over the area, some officers with guns drawn.
Clarksville Now has reached out to CPD and MCSO for information.
