UPDATE: Interstate 24 back open after wreck in Clarksville

Update, 6:33 p.m.: The interstate has been reopened, and traffic is clearing.

Update, 5:55 p.m.: Eastbound traffic is still locked up into Kentucky, but westbound traffic is mostly clear.

Update, 5:35 p.m.: Eastbound traffic is backed up over a mile into Kentucky. Westbound traffic is slow, almost to Exit 4.

Clarksville Now has reached out to Tennessee Highway Patrol for information about the crash.

Previously:

CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Interstate 24 eastbound is closed near mile marker 2 in Clarksville because of a crash.

At 5:05 p.m., the road was closed and drivers were urged to find alternate routes for the next three to four hours, according to Clarksville Police.

Tennessee Highway Patrol is handling the crash.
