UPDATE: Traffic on Interstate 24 returning to normal after 3-4 car crash near Exit 11

Update, 7:05 p.m.: Traffic is returning to normal, with some lingering backups at about mile marker 17 and just past Exit 24.

Update, 6:30 p.m.: Traffic is clearing at Exit 11 but still backed up from about mile marker 22 to mile marker 14.

Update, 5:30 p.m.: Traffic is backed up to Exit 19.

Update, 5:20 p.m.: The wreck involved three to four vehicles, with unknown injuries, according to Clarksville Police Lt. Melissa Spielhagen. Westbound Interstate traffic is closed for emergency responders at the scene, and there is no estimated time for the roadway to reopen.

The public is asked to avoid the area and find alternate routes. Traffic is now backed up to mile marker 18.

Update, 5 p.m.: Traffic is getting worse, now backed up to mile marker 17.

CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Interstate 24 is backed by a wreck just outside Clarksville.

At 4:35 p.m., westbound traffic was backed up from just before Exit 11 to mile marker 15.
