Update, 10:10 a.m.: Clarksville Fire Rescue Rescue 6, Ladder 6, Squad 1, and District 2 responded to the crash, according to a CFR report. The vehicle was pinned under the trailer next to the rear tires with the patient still inside the vehicle.

Crews began extrication at 6:15 a.m. Extrication was complete at 6:28 a.m. and the patient was turned over to EMS for care before being flown to Nashville via Air Evac.

Update, 9:15 a.m.: The highway is back open, but traffic through the area remains congested.

Update, 7:30 a.m.: The highway is closed from 101st Airborne Division Parkway up to The Tactical Edge. Northbound traffic is backed up to Walmart. Southbound traffic is backed up to Ringgold Road. Traffic is also backed up onto the 101st from the intersection eastbound to Peachers Mill Road.

CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – One person was critically injured in a crash that shut down Fort Campbell Boulevard Tuesday morning.

At about 6:04 a.m., a vehicle rear-ended a semi-tractor trailer at Millswood Drive, according to a press release from Clarksville Police spokesman Scott Beaubien. The highway was shut down in both directions.

Air Evac Lifeteam will be landing at CubeSmart to fly the driver to Nashville, and CPD FACT investigators are responding.

At 7 a.m., northbound traffic was backed up to Old Hopkinsville Road, and southbound traffic was backed up to Ringgold Road. Motorists are urged to seek alternate routes until the roadway is cleared.
