Update, 5:30 p.m.: It appears as though power has been restored to the New Providence area. There is still some traffic congestion in the area.

Update, 3:40 p.m.: According to a news release from Clarksville Police Lt. Charles Gill, the wreck involved minor injuries.

The southbound lane that is closed as CDE Lightband repairs the utility pole on Providence Blvd. is between Cedar Court and Peach Street.

CPD is asking that the public seek alternate routes on their evening commutes.

Update, 3:25 p.m.: Three traffic lights along Providence Blvd. are out after a vehicle crash took out a utility pole at corner of Providence Blvd. and Adkins Street.

The intersections where lights are out are Beech Street and Providence Blvd., Peachers Mill Road and Providence Blvd., and the intersection of Dover Road are out.

CDE Lightband repair crews have one southbound lane closed on Providence, and traffic now appears backed up in both directions.

CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – A vehicle crash on Dover Road has resulted in downed power lines Monday afternoon, leaving 1,410 homes without power.

The traffic incident was reported at 2:24 p.m. on Monday in the New Providence area.

Traffic is backed up to Riverside Drive in the northbound lanes, while southbound lanes appear open.

CDE Lightband spokesperson Lindsay Pease told Clarksville Now that the incident had resulted in downed power lines and that linemen have already started repairs.

Drivers are asked to avoid the area at this time.
