Update, 8:45 a.m.: The roadway appears to be clear and traffic is back to normal.

CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – A crash on Highway 48/13 at the McClure Bridge caused a significant traffic issue, according to Clarksville Police.

At 7:45 a.m., northbound traffic was backed up to Highway 149.

“Officers are working as fast as possible to reopen the bridge,” CPD Lt. Charles Gill said. “CPD is still asking the public to be patient and be prepared for a long delay.”

An earlier crash farther south, at about 5:30 a.m., has been cleared.
