Update, 9:30 a.m.: Three people were seriously injured in the wreck. One was flown by LifeFlight to Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville. Two were transported by ambulance to Tennova Healthcare-Clarksville, Wojnarek told Clarksville Now.

Update, 9:20 a.m.: The roadway is back open and traffic has returned to normal.

Update, 8:25 a.m.: Southbound traffic is backed up to Freeman Road, and traffic maps are indicating there may have been a second wreck in the backed up traffic.

CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – At least two people were hurt in a collision on Highway 48 and Seven Mile Ferry Road this morning in Montgomery County.

At about 7:50 a.m., a pickup truck and a car collided, according to Lt. Mark Wojnarek. The scene is just north of Montgomery Central High School.

At least two people were injured, and one of them had to be extricated from the vehicle. LifeFlight was en route.

This will create a significant delay in traffic in the immediate and adjacent areas, Wojnarek said. Deputies are diverting traffic through Attaway Road. Please plan alternate routes and avoid this area if possible.
