NASHVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – The Tennessee Titans (1-1) host the Pittsburgh Steelers (2-0) at Nissan Stadium on Sunday, August 25 at 7 p.m. for their third preseason game. Many Titan players are looking to show why they should be on the final 53-man roster.

Jeremy McNichols continues to flash in the Tennessee backfield, but will need another strong showing in order to force Titans general manager Jon Robinson’s hand.

The wide receiver position has yet to play itself out completely for the Titans, as Taywan Taylor, Darius Jennings, Kalif Raymond and a few others vie to make the cut.

Game three of the preseason is normally seen as a dress rehearsal for the season, and teams will likely play their starters for the entirety of the first half.

Pittsburgh quarterback Ben Roethlisberger is now the lone “Killer B” for the Steelers after the departure of Le’Veon Bell and Antonio Brown. Big Ben has been held out for the duration of the preseason to this point, but look for number seven in black and gold to start for Pittsburgh in this one.

With that being said, former Tennessee Volunteer quarterback Joshua Dobbs may also see the field for at least one quarter of play for Pittsburgh.

Titans running back Derrick Henry returned to practice Monday after being out since day one of training camp with a calf injury.

Titans head coach Mike Vrabel has left open the possibility that Henry could potentially play against Pittsburgh, but is likely taking more of a wait-and-see approach when it comes to his running back’s availability.

In other news for the Titans, Jonnu Smith and Ryan Succop were activated off of the physically unable to perform (PUP) list Monday.

Tennessee travels to Chicago to take on the Bears for their final preseason game of the year at 7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 29.

Fans can catch the game Sunday live online or on the air with ESPN Clarksville 104.1 FM.
