CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – (CLARKSVILLENOW) The Clarksville Salvation Army kicked-off its Red Kettle holiday campaign on Veterans Day, Friday, November 11. Starting off, the kettles will be at locations around town with Kroger stores added on Monday, November 14 and Walmart and Sam’s Club on Black Friday.

Captain Sally Love with the Salvation Army said the goal this year is $120,000. “This money is critical for our emergency shelter that cares for more than 1,000 homeless people each year and that helps provide a Merry Christmas for more than 600 families and 1,300 children each year,” said Love.

Both volunteer as well as paid bell ringers are needed to help at the sites that will be set up throughout the community. If you would like to sign up to be a bell ringer at one of the Red Kettle locations, call the Salvation Army at 931-552-5350.

The Salvation Army Angel Tree program is also underway to help make Christmas happier for many Children in Clarksville-Montgomery County.
