CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Don’t miss the Hummingbird Festival this weekend, and it’s a great Saturday for the Downtown Market.

Hummingbird Festival

  • Where: Rotary Park, 2308 Rotary Park Drive
  • When: Saturday, Aug. 15, 8 a.m.-noon
  • Cost: Free
  • Details: Celebrate hummingbirds and other pollinator species with activities for all ages. Sponsored by the Southeastern Avian Research Institute and Warioto Audubon Society, the event will feature live hummingbird banding demonstrations, bird watching, pollinator presentations, children’s activities and garden tours. Food vendors will be on site.

Clarksville Downtown Market

  • Where: Public Square, 1 Public Square
  • When: Saturdays, May 9-Oct. 3, 8 a.m.-noon
  • Cost: Free
  • Details: Locally grown produce, food items and handmade crafts. Held each Saturday around Public Square, the open-air market gives residents and visitors an opportunity to shop from local farmers, artisans and small businesses.

Bee-Lieve in Literacy: Adult Spelling Bee Showdown

  • Where: Customs House Museum & Cultural Center
  • When: Tuesday, Aug. 18. Reception, silent auction at 5 p.m.; spelling bee at 6 p.m.
  • Cost: Tickets $51.50 on PayPal.
  • Details: The Imagination Library of Montgomery County fundraiser to provide books for young children. The evening will feature a silent auction, themed costumes, chants and audience participation. Open to guests 21 and older, with proceeds supporting the Imagination Library of Montgomery County.
