CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – It is something that is a summer tradition all across America, and it’s no different right here at home: the Montgomery County Fair.

The fair is normally in June and this year with the COVID-19 pandemic, things are of course a little different. The fair is set to be a fun event to brighten everyone’s spirits, Aug. 7-15 at the Clarksville Speedway & Fairgrounds, 1600 Needmore Road.

Speedway owner William Scogin said this year the fair is being spread over two weekends mainly for safety concerns of COVID-19 which will help lower crowded conditions.

Scogin said the fair usually has two aisleways for the public as they stroll through the Midway, but this year in the interest of social distancing there will be four aisleways and the actual layout of the fair will be larger than in years past.

All Speedway and fair employees will be wearing masks and gloves.

“We’re going to do everything we can to keep it as safe as we can for everybody,” Scogin said. As far as masks for the public at the fair, Scogin said it is outdoors, but if you can’t practice social distancing, you should be wearing a mask.

The Speedway and Midway employees as well as ride operators will be subject to regular temperature checks, and each Midway ride will be cleaned and sanitized after each ride.

Parking is free with $5 midway admission for adults, ages 12 and up, kids 4-11 $3 and children age 3 and under are free. Every night is armband night with armband prices ranging from $20 to $25 depending on the day and time, with discounts for military and first responders on Monday and Wednesday night to recognize their service. Attractions are included with fair admission.
