CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Taco John’s is coming back to Clarksville, with a new location under construction and set to open in December.
On Monday, Taco John’s began construction on a 2,800-square-foot restaurant at the former Tony Knight Autoplex lot on Riverside Drive, according to a news release. Clarksville’s new Taco John’s will mark the fifth in Tennessee and 385th systemwide.
“We’re thrilled to bring Taco John’s back to Clarksville and can’t wait to start sharing our bold, one-of-a-kind offerings with the community in December,” franchisee Kevin Newell said in the release. “The new restaurant is going to be in the perfect location, right by Austin Peay State University and the busy Riverside Drive business corridor, so we are confident it will be a hit in this bustling college town. We look forward to quickly establishing Taco John’s as the go-to restaurant for students, visitors and locals alike.”
At one point, in the 1990s, Clarksville had two Taco John’s locations, one at 1018 S. Riverside Drive and another at 1461 Fort Campbell Blvd., according to Leaf-Chronicle archives. The new location will be at the other end of Riverside, at 955 N. Riverside Drive.
In the weeks ahead, the new restaurant will hire employees for up to 45 positions. Interested candidates are encouraged to apply at careers.tacojohns.com.
