Sydney Milan Phillips Bumpus, age 85, of Clarksville, TN, passed away Wednesday, August 31, 2022 at her residence.
Sydney was born February 1, 1937, in Clarksville, TN, to the late Bob Baggett and Lizzie Davis Baggett. She was preceded by her husband, Jack Bumpus in 2021.
She is survived by her daughters, Renee (David) Hall and Tracey Marston; grandchildren, Ryan Hall, Scott Hall, and Tiffany Marston; and her devoted cousin, Don (Ann) Wood.
A Celebration of Life service will be held Thursday, September 8, 2022 at 1:00 p.m., at the Chapel of Neal Tarpley Parchman Funeral Home, with Dr. Steve Louder officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday, September 7, 2022 from 4:00 p.m.-6:00 p.m., and Thursday 12:00 p.m. until the hour of service, at the funeral home.
Sydney was truly one of a kind. Anyone who knows her knows that she was always in full hair and makeup – she loved to look and feel her best, and she did. She was proud to be a part of the Daughters of the American Revolution, the Capt. William Edminston Chapter. She was also an avid reader, loved to go to the movie theater, and loved to go to Blackhorse downtown and have the beer cheese dip. Sydney attended and was a lifetime member of Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Her favorite past-time would be to collect antiques and go to estate sales. She was always surrounded by wonderful, loving friends and family whom she adored. The true loves of her life, her cherished dogs BonBon and Lizzie, were with her until the end and have found new loving homes, honoring her greatest wish. She is now reunited with her beloved husband, Jack, and her parents, Lizzie and Bob along with many other cherished friends and family members in Heaven.
