CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – In the late evening of Monday, July 1, Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office Deputies assisted another law enforcement entity attempting to initiate a traffic stop on a vehicle as part of an ongoing investigation. However, the vehicle ended up fleeing, and striking several other vehicles in the pursuit.
Following law enforcement’s attempt to initiate a traffic stop, the vehicle fled, and it had been reported they struck a stop car with two law enforcement officers inside, resulting in aggravated assault charges, according to MCSO spokesperson Bishop Delaney.
The vehicle then fled the crash site and was pursued down Madison Street and onto Montgomery County Hwy 48/13. Montgomery County Deputies continued to provide support in the pursuit until it was terminated just past Hwy 149.
The Tennessee Highway Patrol responded to investigate a crash caused by the suspect vehicle at the intersection of Madison Street and Memorial Drive.
While the subject is still at large, they are not believed to be a danger to the community, according to Delaney. This is an active investigation, and no other information has been made available for release at this time.
