CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – There was a lot of excitement in the air Saturday, August 2 at the Clarksville-Montgomery County School System (CMCSS) and Wyatt-Johnson Pass & Go event. It was especially exciting for one student, Kimberly Rosenbaum, who came away with a brand new car.

Rosenbaum, will be a Senior at West Creek High School this year and had the lucky key that started a Mazda 2. Rosenbaum will actually get her choice of either a 2014 Toyota Yaris, Hyundai Accent or Mazda 2 from Wyatt Johnson Automotive Group. She said she wanted to see all three vehicles before she made her decision.

The teen was still shaking minutes after winning the car and calling her parents to share the news with them. “It’s amazing, there’s no words to really describe it. I turned the key and I heard the engine and actually freaked out at first, I couldn’t believe it. I’m so happy,” said Rosenbaum.

The students first tried their keys in the car door with ten keys opening the door. Those ten finalists then drew for a key, one of which started the car. Along with Wyatt Johnson a number of othr local businesses partnered with CMCSS in the Pass & Go event.

Premier Medical gave each student a thumb drive and a chance to win one of 14 Surface tablets in a random drawing. William Beach Oil and Domino’s Pizza also provided door prizes for the students.

Bill Powers, Vice President of the Clarksville-Montgomery County Education Foundation and Wyatt Johnson General Manager, talked about the Pass & Go event. “To be able to give back to the community that has given so much to us is very important for Wyatt Johnson,” Powers said.

This is the sixth year for the Pass & Go reward celebration and this year a total of 458 students passed 681 Advanced Placement exams. This year was an all-time high for the number of students taking and passing the exams.
