CLARKSVILLE, TN – The Sigma Beta Club of Clarksville (SBC) held its official induction ceremony to welcome new members on Saturday, Aug. 8, in the multipurpose room below Pinnacle Bowling Alley. The ceremony marks the formal welcoming of the newest class of young men into the organization, celebrating their commitment to leadership, academic achievement, and community service.
Chartered on August 31, 2011, the Sigma Beta Club of Clarksville is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit affiliate youth organization of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc., serving young men ages 8 to 18 throughout the Clarksville-Montgomery County area. Members come from diverse family and ethnic backgrounds, reflecting the club’s ongoing commitment to serving the full breadth of the local community. Through the program, members are taught leadership and communication skills designed to prepare them for future educational, occupational, and recreational pursuits, with a mission centered on providing young men with educational and occupational resources and helping them become positive examples for their peers.
The Sigma Beta Club traces its roots to the early 1950s, when Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity became the first Greek-letter organization to establish a youth auxiliary group. The club was founded under the direction of Dr. Parlett L. Moore, who, as National Director of Education, recognized the changing needs of communities at the time and the vital role that Sigma men could play in the lives of young people.

Our induction ceremony represents symbolizes a lifelong commitment from our advisors and the brothers of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. to stand beside these young men throughout their pursue of academic success, leadership development, and responsible manhood.
The Aug. 8 ceremony was supported in part by the Clarksville Sunset Rotary Club, a longtime community partner of the program.
