CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – A semi tractor-trailer went on a damage-strewn crash rampage and police chase across north Clarksville Saturday evening before being stopped by police in Kentucky.
At about 5:54 p.m., Clarksville Police began receiving multiple 911 calls regarding a semi tractor-trailer driving recklessly on Wilma Rudolph Boulevard and hitting several vehicles causing damage, according to police spokesman Scott Beaubien.

Several CPD officers and deputies with the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office pursued the vehicle trying to get the driver to stop. The semi drove down Wilma to the 101st Airborne Division Parkway then to Fort Campbell Boulevard. He turned south onto and then right at Lafayette Road and continued to the Purple Heart Parkway. He turned north onto Fort Campbell Boulevard again and continued north into Kentucky. Kentucky agencies took over the pursuit, which ended near the Oak Grove Walmart when the driver ran and was arrested after a short foot pursuit.

Officers and deputies worked together to block off intersections to minimize the damage to citizens. Multiple crashes were reported but there are no reports of any life-threatening injuries.

Due to the seriousness of the situation, the Clarksville Police Department will assign a detective to investigate this case and all reports will be funneled to the District 1 Criminal Investigations Division. CPD will work on getting the driver extradited to Tennessee.
