CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – S.T.E.P.S (School Tools that Empower and Promote Success) has been collecting school supplies from December to distribute locally.
This is the third year S.T.E.P.S has collected at the halfway point of the school year in Clarksville. Many families struggle after the holidays and are unable to provide supplies for their children, which can put a burden on teachers who often pay for supplies out of their own pockets.
Two local businesses have offered to help collect: Bombshells Salon and Spa at 2106 Trenton Road and B4U bearsfouryou.com at 1860 Wilma Rudolph Blvd (Leap Plaza). Supplies can be dropped off at these locations to be delivered to schools.
Families or teachers who need help with supplies can visit http://steps.vpweb.com/default.html and fill out a contact form. The form requires the age, grade, and gender of the student. S.T.E.P.S. will then provide a backpack full of supplies for the student. All information is 100% confidential.
