CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – On Tuesday, Nov. 17, the Rossview Middle School Jr. Beta Club presented a board member from Camp Horizon a check for $5,000.
Camp Horizon is a camp for children who have or who have had cancer. It is designed to meet the special needs of children undergoing treatment as well as offer a fun environment in which they can participate in typical summer time activities.
Camp Horizon also offers a week long SIBS camp for siblings of current or former cancer patients.
Camp is provided free of charge to all campers, which is made possible by donations. The Rossview Middle School Jr. Beta club decided to sell candy this year to raise enough money to send four kids.
“We are happy to say we have met and exceeded that goal and will be able to sponsor 10 children,” said Elizabeth Krokosky, Special Education Department Chair and sponsor of the club.
