Collierville, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – The Rossview High Hawks started their postseason as the fourth seed in their district. They didn’t win their district tournament. They didn’t win their regional tournament. They’ve played in four games with their season on the line.

However, the Hawks have never wavered, as they most recently defeated Collierville High School by a score of 7-0 in substate and are headed to the state tournament for the second time in program history, and the first time in 20 years.

Aided by the cheers of the Rossview baseball team, who had just clinched their own spot in Murfreesboro, the Hawks’ bats were unrelenting, and their defense pitched a shutout to defeat the Dragons on Friday night.

It’s been since 2005 since the Hawks have traveled to Murfreesboro, and getting to the state tournament is an achievement of its own. However, the Hawks still have work to do and will chase a title starting Tuesday against Dobyns Bennett High School at 2:00 p.m. at the Murfreesboro Starplex Sports Complex.
